Top 10 Events in Eastern Iowa This Weekend
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend as summer is coming to an end, look no more! There’s plenty to do in the Corridor. Here are ten events happening this weekend that are sure to entertain you.
If your weekend starts on a Thursday, join K-Hawk’s Brain for country night at the Marion Uptown Getdown this Thursday night starting at 6 p.m. in Marion Square Park.“8 Seconds” performs this week and Brain will also sign you up to win Alan Jackson tickets.
Friday, 7 – 10 p.m.
Start your weekend early and check out Cedar Rapids’ longest-running jazz concert series as it celebrates its 30th anniversary at McGrath Amphitheatre.
Friday night, 5 – 11 p.m. (goes through Saturday)
There’s always something going on at the Hiawatha Fun Fest! The festivities kick off on Friday night with a Concert in the Park featuring 8 Seconds and a Movie Under the Moon from 9-11 p.m.
Friday 5:30 – 8 p.m.
The free Friday night concert series outside NewBo City Market features Dr.Z’s Experiment.
Friday 4 – 6 p.m.
This event is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through October 13. Plants, flowers, fruits and veggies, dog treats, crafts, and more are available at the market located on the corner of Collins Road and Council Street NE.
Saturday 11:30 a.m.- 10 p.m.
This event is a FREE Christian music festival for all ages that’s headed to Hawkeye Downs Expo Center.
Friday & Saturday, fireworks start at 9 :30 p.m.
Boomtown in Vinton is described on their site as “an Earth-shaking pyrotechnic experience you will not soon forget.” The best part is that it’s FREE to watch! Be sure to get there early to get some good seats and stop by and see KHAK’s Courtlin from 5-7 p.m.!
Saturday, bike ride from 1 – 6 p.m.
This is the 3rd year for the fun bar to bar bike ride on the Cedar River Trail to support Feeding America Operation: BackPack.
Saturday, 8 – 11:30 a.m.
Stop by Taube Park in Marion for a variety of locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, flowers, homemade crafts, and much more!
Saturday, kickoff at 7:05 p.m.
The Cedar Rapids Rampage will host an exhibition match between indoor national teams representing the United States and Mexico.
