This Was NO Upset

And the ACM Album of the Year is....who?  That was the reaction from some as Kacey Musgrave's Same Trailer Different Park took home the ACM trophy Sunday Night.  Some had never heard of her.  Many thought there were other, more deserving albums.  Not so fast my friends.  Here is what I wrote about this album back in December of last year.

Song after song, brilliant song writing.  No fancy, slick production.  Real, honest music.  It was so different than anything that country audiences had heard, and that is why it struck a chord with me.  In my opinion, it was the album of the year in country music.  It's one of the few albums from this year that I find myself going back and listening to again, and again.  My favorite tracks include, Silver Lining, Merry Go 'Round, Dandelion, Blowin Smoke, Keep it to Yourself, and Follow Your Arrow.  Her voice is distict, and confident.  There is humor and heartbreak.  It's everything a great album should be.  Give it a listen today. 

Since writing that review, Kacey has won 2 Grammy awards and the ACM for Album of the Year.  You may not hear her on the radio as much as she should be played, but don't let that stop you from experiencing such a fantastic album.  I'd love to hear what YOU think!
