The Top Five Fishing Spots In Eastern Iowa
Spring is here and the warm weather has finally settled in! There is no better way to get out and enjoy the great outdoors than finding a great spot and taking the family fishing. It's something that my parents took our family to do when I was young. I remember some fun times at many of the great lakes and rivers we visited. If you're looking to take your family fishing this spring or summer, here are five can't miss locations you'll want to check out!

Pleasant Creek Lake, Palo
This 400-acre lake in Linn County offers plenty of great fishing. You can expect to see bluegills and various kinds of bass at Pleasant Creek.

Lake Macbride
The Iowa DNR ranked Lake Macbride as the best place to fish in Johnson County. Biologists call it the best walleye lake in the area. Anglers can also land trophy muskie too.

Central Park Lake
This is the lake that my parents took me to when I was a kid, and it's undergone many upgrades and improvements since then! Bluegills, bass and some giant grass carp can be found as can many great spots to fish from shore!

Pinicon Ridge Park, Central City
The Iowa DNR ranked it as one of Linn County's best fishing spots. The Wapsipinicon River provides good spots for walleye, smallmouth bass and northern pike.

This Benton County gem offers fantastic shore fishing, and the chance for kids to catch plenty of bluegills and bass.
