The Top Earning American Idols of 2015

American Idol will crown one final champion in this, it's final season on Fox. But you don't have to win the show to be a winner financially. Just ask the top earning American Idol alum of 2015, Adam Lambert.

Lambert, the runner up on season 8 of AI, cashed in to the tune of $10 million in 2015. Yes, he releases and records music, but he also fronts and tours with the legendary rock band Queen, which is where the majority of his total came from. Carrie Underwood, who topped this list the past two years, drops to #2 with a total of $8 million. That number will rise in 2016 however, as she gets set to launch a worldwide tour for her 'Storyteller' album.

Chris Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson and Scotty McCreery round out the top five Idol earners of last year. The two night American Idol premiere continues tonight on Fox.
