Do you know an area teacher making a huge impact on the lives of their students? Nominate them for the KHAK Teacher of the Week Award! Congratulations to this week's winner:  Molly Donahue from Harding Middle School in Cedar Rapids!

Molly was nominated by Briana O'Hara and this is what she had to say in her entry.

"Molly has been an amazing asset to our family. My nephew is very quiet and shy and has some behavior concerns as well. With this teacher, he smiled and enjoyed being in her class. He actually enjoyed going to school. She made him laugh and feel special. My nephew also suffers from Celiac disease and she has put special efforts into providing snacks that he can eat too."

The student himself also entered a nomination for her. Here's what he had to say: "ms donahue was the best teacher I ever had. She helped me to be a better person and to appreciate education, she went out of her way to make sure that when she made snacks or food that is was gluten free as I'm a celiac. She on her own studied up on it and made sure the cafeteria did what they needed to. She stayed on her own time to catch me up on math. She is training a dog to work with her and Berkly is the best dog. I still talk with her and just went to visit. She actually cares about her kids. She is why I'm doing so much better in school. She helped me see my behavior was not helping me. It would mean a lot to see her win she deserves this and so much more, so please pick her. I am now a freshman and really wish teachers could move with you."
