Teacher of the Week — May 20th

Do you know an area teacher making a huge impact on the lives of their students? Nominate them for the KHAK Teacher of the Week Award!

This week’s winner is Kimberly Smith, a teacher at Pierce Elementary in Cedar Rapids! She was nominated by Jessica Westercamp, and she wrote:

"We are SO thankful for Mrs. Smith! Mrs. Smith's dedication to making sure all of her students are successful in school is unmatched. She takes the necessary time to communicate with us on a very regular basis and work closely with our daughter to ensure her success in school. She has had a trying year, at times, and Mrs. Smith has made all efforts to accommodate her and put plans in place to support her learning. Mrs. Smith acknowledges that sometimes we all have bad days and that each day is a new start. She has a passion and love that shines through for all of her students. Our daughter loves school and learning; Mrs. Smith has kept that spark alive in her this year through her encouragement, support, kind words and TLC she shows each and every day."
