Cedar Rapids police officer Lucas Jones and the city of Cedar Rapids have made their first responses to a lawsuit filed in February, following a November shooting that left Jerime Mitchell of Cedar Rapids paralyzed.
There was a great deal of tension Monday morning at the Linn County Courthouse as a jury's verdicts were returned involving the killing of two Cedar Rapids citizens. There was good reason for the extra concern.
Earlier this week, a Linn County grand jury decided not to indict Cedar Rapids Police Officer Lucas Jones after a shooting that paralyzed Jerime Mitchell from the neck down. Now the dashcam video from Jones' squad car has been released.
