In the Steele household, most Sunday mornings are spent with a piping hot cup of coffee, some jazz music, the paper, and nice relaxing feeling for all of us (me, Misty, and Chilli.)  Yesterday morning was not the usual Sunday morning as we spent most of it at St Luke's in the Emergency Room.

When I felt the first inkling of intense pain around 2am, I had a pretty good idea what was wrong with me - kidney stone.  I'd had one before (albeit 5 years ago) and that excruciating pain is hard to forget.  So after trying to get comfortable and sleep (to no avail on both) Misty drove me to the ER and they ran tests and a scan and bingo - "we have a kidney stone."  They say the pain of having a kidney stone is the closest thing a guy can feel to the pain of labor.  I say, "thank God I am not birthing any babies."

One more thing...the staff at St Luke's is and was amazing.  Thank you for all you did for me yesterday - and what you will continue to do for me.  And now we wait for the "passing of the stone."  I'll keep you updated.
