This month in Hong Kong, a rare piece of movie history is set to go up for auction.  The famous yellow jump suit that Bruce Lee wore in his final acting role before his untimely death, will go up for sale.  It is expected to fetch between thirty and forty thousand dollars.  Now even if I had that kind of money, and I clearly don't, that wouldn't be the piece of Hollywood history I would bid on.  But what would I want to buy?

Ask yourself that very question.  What ONE prop or costume from a moive would you most want to own?  Fun to think about isn't it!  The possiblities are endless!  What about Harrison Ford's hat and whip from the Indiana Jones movies.  The original mask that David Prowse wore as Darth Vader in Star Wars.  The gun used in the movie Scarface, as Tony yelled, "Say hello to my little friend!"  All iconic props and costumes that you really couldn't argue with.  But none would be my first choice.

Maybe it's because I have kids now, and especially since I have daughters, but if I could own ONE piece of Hollywood history, it would be this.

From the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy's ruby red slippers.  I remember loving this movie, and being afraid of it at the same time, as a child.  Now, my children have come to love it too.  I can't think of any movie prop that I would rather have on display in a glass case, than those ruby red slippers that Judy Garland wore nearly 75 years ago.  The hard part?  Keeping my daughters from putting them on to click their heals!  Because, "there's no place like home....."
