[UPDATED] One Person Killed In Overnight Crash In Cedar Rapids
[UPDATE] Cedar Rapids Police have identified the person killed in an early morning accident on I-380. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was 31-year-old Dennis Vorba of Cedar Rapids.
Authorities believe he was driving southbound when he exited I-380 at the eastbound exit to Highway 30. His vehicle hit a guardrail and rolled. He was ejected and had already died when rescue crews arrived.
[ORIGINAL STORY] An early morning accident on Cedar Rapids' south side has claimed one life.
A release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department reports that officers were called to the scene of an accident on southbound I-380 at the Highway 30 interchange at 2:38 Monday (1/8) morning. When officers arrived, they found the driver had already died.
The name of the person who died has not been released, pending notification of relatives. Cedar Rapids Police continue to investigate.
This accident comes just days after another late-night accident claimed the life of 65-year-old Randall Martin of North Liberty.
