Iowa’s Weirdest World Record Happened Thanks to Diamond Jo’s

There are strange world records that have been broken all over the world. I'd have to say some of the craziest ones are things like the world's longest hair. I can't imagine having to deal with all of that hair just to break a record!

The weirdest Guinness World Record that was actually broken in Iowa doesn't have anything to do with physical appearance. And it was able to happen in part because of Diamond Jo's Casino in Dubuque.

Over in Wisconsin, their weirdest world record was for the largest lawn mower parade. It was broken in Port Washington in 1997 when 800 people came out on their riding lawnmowers and did a 1.2-mile-long parade.

Iowa's Weirdest World Record

In Iowa, the weirdest world record is so goofy I can't believe this even happened. I also can't imagine how exhausted this person must have been when they completed the challenge and secured the record.

The weirdest Guinness World Record in Iowa, according to Mental Floss, is for the longest stand-up comedy show by an individual.

The comedian's name is David Scott, aka The Midnight Swinger. The show took place at Diamond Jo's Casino in Dubuque, April 29-30, 2013. Any guess how long the routine was? I bet you won't get it.

David did a 40-hour and 8-minute stand-up show. There's no way the same people stayed in the audience for that whole show, right? That's nearly 2 days straight of doing stand-up!
