It's one of the best days of the year! Today we celebrate man's best friend!

National Dog Day was founded in 2004, and is celebrated every year on September 26th.

I don't know what I would do without my dogs. Even though I can't have them here in my apartment in Iowa, they are still a huge part of my life all the way back in Michigan.

We adopted Petey when he was 2-years-old. He's a Boston terrier/Jack russell mix, and he is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet in your life. We call him "Needy Petey" because he needs constant attention. He's not the smallest dog in the world, but he acts like it! He will crawl right into your lap and lick you until he feels like you've paid him enough attention.

Charlie is my baby. I adopted him 3 years ago when he was just a little, tiny thing. He's a bugg - a Boston terrier/pug mix, but he DEFINITELY has all the qualities of a pug! He is also not very well-behaved. He's been known to eat shoes, hangers, the squeaker INSIDE the toy, q-tips, pens, chapstick, pillows, remote controls, and just about everything else you can imagine. Despite his bad behavior, he really is a very loving dog. He likes to sleep underneath the covers, right inbetween your legs!

I miss my dogs every single day, and I can't wait to go back to Michigan next weekend and see them! They are pictured below (Petey is the one with the big spot over his eye and Charlie is the brindle one!)
