Sometimes you don't realize just how great a career an artist had until they're gone. That is the way I feel about Joe Diffie. The entire country community was shocked and saddened by his death. Now a new tribute album is out and we all get to sit back and relive the musical genius of Joe Diffie.

That new album is from Hardy. It is called Hixtape: Vol.3: Difftape, and it is filled with Joe Diffies biggest and best songs from his amazing career. While Hardy may get credit for putting out the album, this project is a who's who in country music. Stars like Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Chris Young, Reba McEntire, and more join voices to put new life and energy into Joe's fantastic songs.

Another artist on the project is Iowa's own Hailey Whitters. The Shueyville native is currently heading shows on her 'Can't Tier Down' tour and opening select dates for Dan + Shay. Hailey teams up with Darius Rucker and of course, Diffie himself for Joe's 1990 #1 hit 'Home'.

Hailey shares verses with Rucker and then harmonizes with Diffie. 'Home' has always been one of my favorite classic Joe Diffie songs and it sounds amazing on the Difftape.

Joe Diffie only had five number-one country songs. But he had 12 more than reached the top 10. His sudden death in 2020 left a huge hole in country music. But we can relive those great songs and honor Diffie by hearing new takes courtesy of Hailey Whitters and all the other amazing artists on the Difftape.

Joe is up there smiling today.
