I've loved Glen Campbell for a long time.  The Wichita Lineman is among my favorite country songs of all time.  So when my dad and I got the chance to see him perform at Riverside Casino several years ago, we jumped at the chance.  My dad grew up with his music.  I had grown to love it.  The show was amazing, and we both felt grateful we got to see it.  Several months later, Glen Campbell revealed to the world that he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.  Soon, the touring would stop.  But the fight was just beginning.

Glen's fight with the disease wouldn't be private.  He quickly became a spokesperson for anyone suffering from Alzheimer's or caring for someone with the disease.  He did interviews.  He answered the tough questions.  No one likes to watch as someone slips away due to Alzheimer's disease.  But Glen is using his diagnosis as a way to raise money and hope.  This fall, a documentary about Glen's life as a performer and his life as someone who suffers from Alzheimer's was released.  The film, I'll Be Me, has received great reviews.  A foundation of the same name has also been set up to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's research and support for caregivers. We encourage you to donate.  Let's support all who suffer from this horrible disease, and show the millions of caregivers out there that we care.
