Giving Thanks.

I love Thanksgiving.  It marks the end of my favorite season, fall.  It features many of my favorite foods.  There is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.  And of course....there is football.  Food, inflatables and football.  Not a bad day. 

But my love of Thanksgiving seems to grow deeper as I get older.  Perhaps it's because I know what comes AFTER Thanksgiving.  The rush towards Christmas.  Now don't get me wrong, I love Christmas too.  But the hustle and bustle and buying this, and wrapping that begins to get to me after a while.  That's why I love Thanksgiving.  It's a day where we stop what we're doing.  Gather with loved ones, and say "thanks" for what we have.  There is also pumpkin pie involved.

As another year is nearly gone, I am indeed thankful.  Thankful for my job.  My health.  My friends.  But most of all, my family.  I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather celebrate my favorite day of the year with.
