One of the great things about country music is it's diversity of fans. People from all walks of life and professions love country music. Simply put, it relates. But for a college basketball player it did more than that. It taught him how to speak englsih.

Vanderbilt basketball player Djery Baptiste came to the United States already knowing how to speak several languages. Unfortunately, englsih wasn't one of them. What did he turn to to help him learn? Country music. More specifically, the music of country legend George Strait. Baptiste said that Strait was great at telling stories, and that helped him learn how to better speak english.

Baptiste even ended up playing his college ball at Vanderbilt, which is located in, you guessed it, Nashville. The home of country music. Just another reason why country music relates to so many different people. It's the stories. No one tells them better.
