98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Brian Gibson

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Brian Gibson, who was nominated by Carly Henderson! The entry reads:

"Brian is a Battalion Chief with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, a volunteer with the Fairfax/Walford Fire Department, and spends his time off duty as the Race Director at Hawkeye Downs. Brian is deserving because he spends his time both on and off duty bettering our community. On duty, he has been instrumental in the production and purchase of new firetrucks, and the training and mentoring of new fire fighters. Off duty, he has worked to keep the Hawkeye Downs Racetrack open and bring in the NASCAR sponsorship."

Congratulations to Brian! We thank him for his service and dedication to our community!
