You may have seen Carter's story on the news. To raise awareness for Carter and everyone with Ectodermal Dysplasia (E.D.), Buffalo Wild Wings on Edgewood Rd. SW in Cedar Rapids will be donating 10% of their sales to support awareness and help out Carter's family. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasia and the other half will cover Carter's medical expenses.
What is Ectodermal Dysplasia? It has over 150 symptoms including physical appearances like sparse/light/missing hair, pointed/missing teeth, cleft lip, and no sweat glands. Carter has H.E.D. or Hypohydrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia, which has left him with the inability to sweat, very dry skin, sparse/missing hair, and only two fang teeth.
The community is coming together to support Carter and families just like his. The night's activities will include games, face painting, a silent auction, and bouncy house. Plus, a Cedar Rapids fire truck will be there so bring the whole family!
