Eastern Iowa Native on The Amazing Race

A former Miss Iowa United States who dealt with the emotional loss of her well-known boyfriend last year attempts to continue on past week three tonight.

Oskaloosa, Iowa native Jessica VerSteeg was Miss Iowa United States 2014 and is part of Season 28 of "The Amazing Race" on CBS. The show airs on Friday nights and Jessica's paired with her best friend, Brittany Oldehoff.

Jessica is also the ex-girlfriend of former Hawkeye football player Tyler Sash, who died of an accidental overdose last year. It was later discovered he was suffering from C.T.E., from his years playing football.

When he passed, she poured her heart out on Instagram:

Even though she's seeing the world on "The Amazing Race" she's still struggling to deal with the man she lost. This post came just two weeks ago.
