For much of the year, rumors have flown that Carrie Underwood was a possible choice for the Super Bowl halftime show.  FINALLY!  A big name country star on the biggest stage in front of millions of people!  But, alas, country has once again been passed over by the NFL.

Now, in fairness to Carrie, she very well may have been the NFL's first choice.  However, she and husband Mike Fisher are expecting their first child, so clearly she wouldn't be able to perform at the big game in 2015.  Yesterday, the league announced that pop star Katy Perry would peform at this year's halftime.  While I love Katy, I think country got shafted...again.

Why not Miranda Lambert?  She, along with Carrie, are the top two females in country music right now.  She's got tons of hits, she can be edgy and has a ton of fun performing on stage.  You could even have her do a duet with her superstar husband Blake Shelton!  Why is The Voice #1?  Blake!  That would be a halftime show that would please the masses, grab ratings and put country music back in the spotlight!

Are you OK with Katy Perry at this year's Super Bowl?  What country star should take the stage?
