Students in the Cedar Rapids school district will be welcomed back from spring break with a longer school day. In order to make up time from weather delays and cancellations, the school day will start 10 minutes earlier and end 10 minutes later. The time change begins today and lasts through the end of the school year. Here is how it affects each school.

  • Elementary schools will start at 8:50am and conclude at 3:55pm.
  • Middle school classes start at 7:50am and dismiss at 3pm.
  • Jefferson High School starts at 7:40am and lets out at 3:10pm.
  • Kennedy High School begins at 7:45am and will dismiss at 2:55pm.
  • Metro High School starts at 7:50am and will let out at 3:26pm.
  • Washington High School begins at 8:05am and will dismiss at 3:15pm.
