The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will decide the fate of a Cedar Rapids casino this Thursday, November 16th. The meeting will take place at the Diamond Joe Casino in Dubuque. The 5-person commission will meet at 8:30 a.m. and a decision should come about an hour later.

The commission voted on this same casino license back in 2014. The license was rejected by a vote of 4-1. The commissioners cited a major impact on the Riverside Casino as the reason for voting against it in 2014.

If you ask me, this won't pass. Not much has changed since the last time we tried to secure a gambling license in Cedar Rapids. Once again, it's up to the 5 commissioners and their vote this Thursday.....Stay tuned!

You can watch a livestream of the meeting courtesy of the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Log on to www.TheGazette.com at 8:30 a.m. to watch the results come in.

Good luck Cedar Rapids!
