Cedar Rapids and Marion Among the Nation’s Most Livable Cities

The Iowa cities of Cedar Rapids and Marion are ranked very high on a new list of the most livable cities in the United States. What makes a city 'livable'? The first of it's kind livability index is based on over 60 different factors like housing, transportation, environment, health and opportunity. The study, done by AARP, ranks Cedar Rapids as the country's seventh best medium sized city. It ranks Marion 9th in the nation for small cities.
