Buchanan Co Fair Kicks Off Tonight With A Big Night Of Racing In Independence

It's going to be a big night in Independence tonight. The IMCA Late Model Deery Brother's Summer Series along with Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and the IMCA Sportmods all racing for a $20,000 purse. All three classes are running the draw/redraw format for qualifying and the feature events.

Jeff Aikey is your points leader and has yet to find victory lane in the IMCA Deery Brothers Series. Only one driver, Scott Fitzpatrick, who's in the top 5 in points has won this year and he sits 4th in points.

Pit and grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are set for 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Adult $16. Student and Senior admission $12, and kids 11 and under are free with paid adult.
