98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Sam Pyzick

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Sam Pyzick, who was nominated by Jesica Deeds! The entry reads:

"Sam is going on almost 10 years of being a first responder, although he’s been around it his entire life. Sam grew up in the small town of Wells, Minnesota, where he discovered his love for emergency services through watching his father on the Wells Fire Department and following in his footsteps.

Sam started out as an EMR then EMT in Wells for both the Wells Fire Department and Wells Community Ambulance, and is now a paramedic at Area Ambulance Service in Cedar Rapids. Sam is one of the greatest paramedics I’ve ever met. He truly cares about his patients and always gives his all on every call he responds to. Sam is a passionate, brave, courageous, and dedicated first responder. He is one I look up to every single day. I am so beyond proud of him, how far he has come, and I can’t wait to continue watching him grow. Keep up the amazing work, Sam!"
