98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Richard (Taco) Ortega

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Richard (Taco) Ortega, who was nominated by Courtney Hammond! The entry reads:

"Richard is on the Center Point EMS and Fire Department, making a difference in his community and impacting many families in Linn County. He is also a volunteer at the CRUSH of Iowa Recovery Community Center, where he is working hard and CRUSHIN the stigma surrounding Substance Abuse Disorder. In his free time, he is involved with Parks and Rec in Center Point and youth sports programs. In addition to keeping our community safe, he is also a devoted father and husband."
