If you're a woman and you've ever had to wear two sweatshirts, block and air vent, or bring a blanket to work in the dead of summer... there's finally an explanation. It's men's fault we're so cold!

Let's face it, America... we sometimes go a little too heavy on the air-conditioning in businesses. Restaurants, grocery stores, offices, and movie theaters are known for being exceptionally cold in the summer. Women typically have more of an issue with this than men, because of the differences in our bodies. Men are usually bigger and heavier than women, which means they heat up and cool down slower, and they also have more muscle, which generates heat. Ladies, we tend to have more body fat, which heats up our core, but leaves us with cold fingers and toes. Differences in summer business apparel can also play a part in why women are chillier. Men will wear the same suits year-round, while women wear more light-weight clothing when the temperature gets hot.

So WHY are workplaces so cold? A study was released Monday that says that today's temperature standards are based off the idea that the average worker is a 154-pound, 40-year-old man. That may have been true back in the day, but not now! Office buildings are still using temperature standards for middle-aged men in suits.

So, there you have it! If you're cold at work, it's probably not just you!

I am DEFINITELY one of these cold women at work (as you can see from the photo... ignore the giant bags under my eyes!). Even if it's 90 degrees outside, I will still come to work in pants and two sweatshirts. I've even had to bring in blankets before! Brain often makes fun of me for all of my layers, while he sits over there in a t-shirt, TOTALLY FINE.

Ladies, does your workplace crank the air up too high, or is it just right? Let me know in the comments.
