They call themselves, the Ice Cream Capital of the World, so you know the ice cream has to be amazing. Here's the real reason this ice creamery in Le Mars, Iowa is so unique; they make more ice cream than any other location on earth. If that's not impressive enough; they've just been given two impressive awards.

The town of 10,000 people was dubbed the Ice Cream Capital of the World in 1994. It’s lived up to its name by serving the most delicious ice cream treats to visitors everywhere.

Formerly known as the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor, the new Wells Visitor Center & Ice Cream Parlor has more than just great ice cream. The visitor's center includes an interactive experience and the company is winning awards.

The company has created an interactive experience that goes beyond the taking in the tastes and smells of an ice cream parlor. You can experience virtual production lines, interact with displays to learn more about the ice cream process, and take in a theater show on The Story of Wells while you're there. Kids can even see what it's like to be a real soda jerk.

The visitor's center is so unique the company just brought home the People's Choice and Outstanding Dining Business (metro) awards from the Iowa Tourism Conference organized by Travel Iowa this week.

The company has been in the ice cream business since 1913 and they make 150 million gallons of ice cream a year. We see Blue Bunny in nearly all of our grocery store freezers across the midwest.

Vanilla is the most popular flavor Blue Bunny makes, although locally in the ice cream parlor the Blue Bunny Salted Caramel Craze has topped the charts. You can find the complete list of ice cream flavors and special treats here.

You can take a short day trip to LeMars and experience the visitors' center with the kids or the company is happy to ship their sweet treats across the country.
