I don't know about anyone else, but I'm having a tough time figuring out just when the Olympics is on. Of course, we're seeing endless coverage of random events on our screens, but sometimes you just want to know when the men's curling team is playing, right?

There is one particular sport and one particular team that Iowans should keep an eye out for. This year, we all have to make sure to watch and support the United States pairs team of Ashley Cain-Gribble and Cedar Rapids native Timothy LeDuc.

Three years ago, you might have heard of competitive figure skater Timothy LeDuc. The athlete competed at the 2019 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and made history as the first openly gay athlete to win a U.S. pairs title. LeDuc ended up taking home the gold with their skating partner, Ashley Cain-Gribble.

During this competition, the duo vied for a spot on the U.S. Olympic skating team. On Thursday, January 6th the team broke a national record along with making history.

The skating team ended up earning a score that would be considered third-best in the world for the season, according to the Boston Globe. They broke the national record for pair short program with 79.39 points and also received a standing ovation at the 2022 U.S. Championships.

You can read more about how they made history here.

LeDuc, a Cedar Rapids native is once again up for making history when they and their partner compete this week at the Olympics in Beijing in pairs figure skating.

It took some deep diving to figure out just when this duo would be competing. Their event "pairs skating" is set to kick off at 4:30 AM on Friday, February 18th. That's when the pairs short program will take place. The pairs free skate will take place on Saturday, February 19th at 5:00 AM Central Time.

Roseanne Barr Abandoned Iowa Mansion in Eldon, IA

I fell into a rabbit hole when I found out that Roseanne Barr almost had a mansion in Iowa. After seeing the current state of the property on Facebook, I was amazed that such an extravagant project could be so quickly overtaken by nature. Only two hours away from Waterloo, this abandoned field could have hosted some of the coolest and elite Hollywood parties in the Midwest. The current photos were taken by Gable Fry on a recent trip he took.
