I've worn glasses all of my adult life.  In fact, I've worn them since I was a small child.  So when my wife and I had kids, we were aware that my eyesight may get passed on.  Boy, did it ever.  Both my son Chase, and my daughter Carly wear glasses.  Just like me, they got them when they were very young.  But, it's a great time to wear glasses as a child.

My glasses were plastic, and the lenses looked like Coke bottles.  No, my parents didn't hate me, but back then you didn't have the options that you do now.  Lense prescription strong?  No problem, they've got "thin lense" technology that avoids the coke bottle look.  Plus, they've got designer frames and styles that simply weren't available when I was a kid.

I don't mind living with glasses.  I think they add character and style.  The kids are currently upgrading their frames.  Carly picker hers out herself, and she loves them!  Suddenly being a "four eyes" is cool.
