Marion Uptown Getdown Returns

The new season of Marion's "Uptown Getdown" concert series is ready to launch this week.

Come to Marion Square Park Thursday nights in August for free, live and local music and fun from 6-9 p.m.

Food will be available for purchase from Marion Hy-Vee, Dairy Queen, and Kettel House Bakery. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and your cooler (but, please--no pets) to enjoy the following lineup of bands:

• August 1: Flaming Camaros. They play a wide range of music from Buddy Holly to Johnny Cash, even Cheap Trick and Foo Fighters!
• August 8: Lonesome Road are local country music favorites
• August 15: Dogs on Skis, Iowa Rock & Roll Hall Famers playing a variety of crowd favorites
• August 22: Airwaves conclude the series with all the best in classic rock
