
UPDATE: Police Standoff Ends In Waterloo

A morning-long police standoff at a Waterloo apartment complex has ended and neighborhood streets have reopened to traffic in the area.
Police officers were called to the Cobblestone Courtyard Apartments Friday around 7:30 AM after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots. Authorities coordinated off the area and evacuated the complex. The standoff involved the Waterloo police tactical team.
After the standoff ended, police apparently found a suspicious package in the apartment.
City streets around the Cobblestone Courtyard Apartments reopened around 1:30 PM.
Police are continuing to investigate and have not yet released any specific details on the incident. It's not yet known if anyone was injured during the standoff or if any arrests were made.
