C.R. Respiratory Clinic Resumes Normal Urgent Care Operations
After transforming its operation to an exclusive respiratory-symptom clinic to help alleviate patient backlog during the Coronavirus pandemic, a UnityPoint facility in Cedar Rapids is resuming urgent care operations.
Westside Urgent Care makes the move effective Monday, June 15. Urgent Care patients seeking care for everyday symptoms like sinus infections, rash, allergies, sore throat, muscle sprains, and minor cuts and burns will be welcomed back to seek treatment at UnityPoint Westside, while respiratory patients will still be seen, in a separate area of the facility. Each room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between patients.
Patients being seen for respiratory symptoms should make an appointment, and use the virtual online waiting room to note when their appointment begins. They are asked to wait in their vehicle in the parking lot until this time to allow proper social distancing. Please allow social distancing in the in-person waiting room as well.
The clinic, at 2375 Edgewood Rd. SW became one of a handful in the area to begin operating in March as a respiratory-only facility to ensure proper treatment to patients who may have potentially contracted COVID-19.
It's been the premise of medical providers all along that if you think you have COVID symptoms that require their care, call them first. Westside Urgent Care's phone number is (319)396-1983.
