Top Pizza Chains to Avoid In Iowa
Top Pizza Chains to Avoid in Iowa
There are very few things that we can all agree on. We’ll never reach a consensus on politics, world issues, or even sports team affiliations.
However, there’s one thing that everyone loves…pizza.
Another thing that we all love to do is complain about mediocre pizza places.
What pizza spots should be avoided? The easiest places to point the finger at are chains.
24/7 Wall St. compiled a list of some of the top pizza chains to steer clear of. The way they determined this was by checking out pizza reviews from different food blogs and websites.
Then I checked out which of these chains had a foothold here in the Hawkeye State.
Domino's
The most common criticisms brought up about this pizza chain was the "lack of consistent quality" and "low quality toppings."
There are approximately 42 Dominos locations in the Hawkeye State, according to reports.
Papa Murphy's Take 'n' Bake Pizza
When 24/7 Wall St. did some research and looked at the reviews for Papa Murphy's, they found one major criticism; "inferior ingredients."
This chain has 39 locations in Iowa, making it the fifth most common pizza chain in the state, right behind Dominos.
Little Caesars
While this pizza spot is convenient, according to reviews this Detroit based chain's main fault is its "low quality ingredients."
I for one love snagging a slice from Little Caesars when I'm on the go, but whatever...
There are 17 Little Caesars spots in the Hawkeye State at the moment.
Cici's Pizza
Cici's isn't as common out here in Iowa. There are only three locations throughout the entire state.
Maybe that's a good thing because there's a pretty considerable list of grievances that people have with this chain. According to reviews, the general consensus is that their pizza has a "lack of freshness" as well as an "off-putting cheese consistency."
Chuck E. Cheese
But this was my childhood! How can anyone be mad at Charles Entertainment Cheese?
Well, this family entertainment center has been the spot for many kid's birthday parties over the years. Of course, the games as well as the giant animatronic animals are huge draws for this franchise with five locations in all of Iowa.
24/7 Wall Street found some varied reviews on this childhood staple, such as "unappetizing cheese," "cardboard-like crust," as well as high prices.
What do you think of this list? Are there any pizza spots that don't deserve to be on it?
