First of all, I stink at wrapping gifts. If you give me a simple square shaped box, I'll eventually be able to wrap it. It won't look pretty. It might be overly taped, but at least you'll be able to tell it's a gift. But if you give me an oddly shaped item to wrap, it's game over. No way.
