Three People Shot in Cedar Rapids
A shooting along a busy Cedar Rapids roadway Saturday night sent three people to the hospital.
Cedar Rapids Police have confirmed the shooting, which occurred around 9 p.m. Saturday, near the FAS Fuel convenience store at 1430 1st Ave N.E.
Two of the victims ran to safety at the Wendy's at 1316 1st Avenue NE. They were taken to an area hospital.
A third victim was also taken to an area hospital. A witness, Larry Bell, told KCRG,
They was having a little conflict or whatever and then, you know, it was cool at first. But, the one guy went to go get in his car, the other guy just started-- man, he was shooting at him but he was saying something about, you know, what goes around comes around."
Bell said the third victim was shot in the neck. He said he knows all three people shot and thought the incident was related to a shooting that happened Sunday, July 2. 26-year-old Andrew Meeks of Cedar Rapids died from injuries he suffered in that shooting.
There has been no information released on the condition of any of the victims. Cedar Rapids Police have not announced any arrests connected to the shootings. We'll keep you up to date as more information becomes available.
