Three Former Iowa Hawkeyes Chosen for 2025 NFL Pro-Bowl
The San Francisco 49ers #85
George Kittle, formerly #46 for the Iowa Hawkeyes, is having another monster year. The Des Moines Register says he has 76 catches, 1,079 yards, and 8 touchdowns in just 14 games. The man is putting up Pro Bowl numbers yet again. Isn't that why they chose him?
He's been doing this for a while. This is his sixth Pro Bowl appearance, and he's reached the 1,000-yard milestone for the second straight year — and four times in his eight-year career.
Next up, a strapping young fellow, and he's doing great work right outside my old hometown of Washington DC. If you're a native, you're probably a fan of the Washington Commanders, the dumbest football team name ever, or the Baltimore Ravens.
Seriously, they should just be the Washington Football team, but no, they had other ideas. Anyway, if you're ever in the area, the Ravens' stadium looks great as you drive by it on I-95.
If you want to dive down a rabbit hole, stop through Baltimore, it's a great city. They host the greatest baseball team ever, the Baltimore Orioles! If you're a fan of another team, I'm sorry, I've never heard of them. Back to the introductions.
The Baltimore Ravens #64
This is Tyler Linderbaum of the Baltimore Ravens. Look out! After being drafted in the first round back in 2022, Tyler Linderbaum has been crushing it! Not only has he made back-to-back Pro Bowls, but he’s also become the anchor of one of the NFL's most electric offenses. Linderbaum’s blocking? Straight-up gold. This guy is already a cornerstone of the Ravens’ O-line!
And, whatever you say when it's the last part: "save the best for last," "in closing," "to wrap things up," "the final word," "to end with," "as a parting shot," or "to leave you with this." However you would like to finalize this, use that phrase here. With that, may I bring you...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers #78
Tristan Wirfs is a machine. When you have stats like his, it should come as no surprise that this is his 4th consecutive Pro Bowl selection. The former 13th-overall pick has lived up to every bit of the hype, and then some. And, let’s not forget, he’s blocking for none other than Baker Mayfield, who’s tied for second in the NFL with 39 passing touchdowns.
There we have it, three former Iowa Hawkeyes not only getting it done, but doing it for multiple seasons, and the payoff is the Pro Bowl. Hmmm, maybe the payoff is the paycheck. $88K to each of the players on the winning team.
Oh, don't feel bad for the "losers," because they're not. Even the team that doesn't come out on top gets $44K per player. The spoils of being chosen. The NFL Pro Bowl is February 2, 2025, @ 2 p.m. Central.
