Eastern Iowa Restaurant Re-Opens Under New Owners

An Eastern Iowa restaurant open since the 1980s is now under new ownership, and is back open with a new menu and a new look!

The Pizza Place in Center Point, Iowa opened in 1982. The restaurant was owned for years by Cindy and Dave Krumm. They were known for their great pizzas, especially the homemade crust recipe. The pizza and the crust recipe remain but The Pizza Place is now owned and run by Allison and Craig Sorensen. After taking over the restaurant, they closed down for a short time to freshen up the interior and the menu too.

The Pizza Place re-opened for business on August 12th. The Sorensens kept many favorites on the menu including the great pizzas and the tenderloin sandwich that people came to the Center Point restaurant for. How can you beat a taco pizza on a homemade crust?

But they also made some changes too, including adding new items to the breakfast menu. Speaking of breakfast, you can get it at The Pizza Place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. They have a full menu of lunch and dinner options and serve broasted chicken from 4 p.m. to close every day. The Sorensens said that their new menu offers a wider selection of fresh, homemade foods.

The Pizza Place is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Sorenens said that they hope to extend their hours once they hire more staff.

We can't wait to make our next trip up to Center Point to try the new Pizza Place menu! I think there is a taco pizza with my name on it!
