The Most Popular New Year’s Resolutions for 2018
2018 is finally here! Some people absolutely hate the idea of making New Year's Resolutions, but personally? I love it. A new year is a fresh start, and although I don't always accomplish EVERYTHING I set out to, I still have a pretty good success rate. I've started up yoga again, tried over 12 new restaurants, traveled to several new places, and learned how to play guitar in the last couple of years. According to a new survey, only 32% of people said they aren't planning on making New Year's resolutions this year.
My main resolution for 2018 is to pay off some debt/save a little bit of money. That's one of my main resolutions every year, but I really want to focus more on it this time. I also want to try more things that scare me. I get so comfortable with my routine that any big changes really freak me out. That's one of the reasons I've been trying to travel more, because it gets me out of my familiar environment. And, of course, I do want to continue with my daily workouts/healthy eating journey and read a little bit more.
Not surprisingly, most of my resolutions are common ones. The three biggest ones, each tied at 37%, include eating better, exercising more, and spending less money. Here are some other common ones people want to focus on in 2018:
- Self-care - 24%
- Reading more books - 18%
- Learning a new skill - 15%
- Getting a new job - 14%
- Making new friends - 13%
- Getting a new hobby - 13%
