The Most Popular Dips to Eat in the Midwest During the Big Game
When it comes to party foods, there's no better option than dip! There are hundreds of varieties of dips out there, but some are definitely more popular than others.
With the Super Bowl coming up this weekend, Google Trends looked into the dip recipes that Americans have been searching the most over the course of the past week. Some of the top searches include skillet dip, pepperoni pizza dip, crab dip, queso dip, and fruit dip.
Here in Iowa, the dip people have been googling the most is chili cheese dip. It's actually a pretty simple dip to make! Most of the recipes online only require canned chili, cream cheese, and shredded cheese, but you can also add salsa or hot sauce to it. There are several cooking options, too. You can bake it in the oven, microwave it, or mix it all together and put it in the crockpot. Oh, and don't forget the tortilla chips for dipping!
Chili cheese dip is also the most searched dip in Illinois over the past week, but the rest of our Midwest neighbors had different results! Here are their top searches:
- Missouri, Minnesota, & Wisconsin - Taco Dip
- South Dakota - Pickle Dip
- Nebraska - Blue Cheese Dip
- Indiana & Kansas - Buffalo Chicken Dip
- Michigan - Jalapeno Popper Dip
- Ohio - Nacho Dip
What is your favorite dip to make for parties? My personal favorites are spinach artichoke dip, taco dip, and pickle dip. Let us know yours in the comments!
