If you're going to or have been to college, then you know -- it's expensive. All colleges are going to cost you a pretty penny, but here's a look at the MOST expensive college in Iowa. MSN.com posted an article showing the highest priced colleges in each state. According to that article, Grinnell College is the most expensive college in Iowa, coming in at an annual cost of $46,990!

After doing some digging on Grinnell's website, it looks like the actual price may be a lot higher than that (without scholarships, grants etc. taken into account). Here's the breakdown:

The Comprehensive Fee for the 2017-2018 school year is....$63,114!

  • Tuition: $50,264
  • Fees: $450
  • Room: $5,856
  • Board: $6,544

The reason for this premium price could be that Grinnell is a private college, and that according to the MSN report, "The school has a 9-1 student-to-professor ratio and a $1.8 billion endowment, and more than 50 percent of enrolled students study abroad." Here's a little bit about Grinnell from their website:

Founded in 1846, Grinnell College is a private, coed, residential liberal arts and sciences college located in Grinnell, Iowa. We confer bachelor of arts degrees in 26 major fields and offer individualized curriculum planning and advising. Independent majors are possible.

Or another reason could just be for its beauty alone!

How does Grinnell compare to Iowa's neighboring states, you ask? Well, let's take a look.
