The Marion Hy-Vee is Hosting a Nacho-Eating Challenge on Friday
I'm going to start by saying that the ONLY, and I mean ONLY, reason I'm not doing this contest is because I'm going to be in Chicago on Friday.
Apparently I am the Queen of Nachos, because like 12 people shared a link with me last night about a Cinco De Mayo "Grande Nacho Challenge" happening at the Marion Hy-Vee on Friday. It will be happening from 4-5 p.m., and you have one hour to finish the nachos. Exactly what will you be eating? According to the sign, the nachos consist of:
- 1 package of Family Size Fresh Kitchen Chips
- 1 pound of chicken or beef and beans
- 1 pound of cheese
- 1/2 a pound of lettuce
- 1/2 a pound of diced tomatoes & onions
- Sour cream and/or salsa by request
If the platter is not finished in exactly one hour, you will have to pay $15.99 for the nachos. If you DO happen to finish, you will get your nachos for free AND receive a $25 gift card. It honestly sounds like an activity I would love to participate in, but since I can't, I will have to live vicariously through all of you.
The event is happening at ONLY the Marion Hy-Vee, located at 3600 Business Hwy 151 E. from 4-5 p.m. on Friday in the main dining area.
