It doesn't matter where you're from or how old you are, everybody out there has at least ONE family holiday tradition.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is continuing traditions that have been in my family since my brother and I were kids. Christmas just wouldn't be the same in our house if we didn't have them! Whether it's an old tradition that's been in your family for years or a new one that you've started with your kids, something really big or something really small, we want to hear about it! We here at KHAK have some fun ones that we want to share with you:

  • Courtlin - Aside from watching 24 full hours of "A Christmas Story" every year, my favorite holiday tradition would have to be our Christmas Day breakfast. Instead of making a big breakfast like some families do, we just eat Christmas cookies. My mom makes a TON of them every year, and they're always delicious, so that's our breakfast - a plate full of cookies and a glass of milk.
  • Bob James -My favorite holiday tradition is also a memory. My parents ALWAYS use to buy us a giant candy cane "pole" every year at Christmas. The thing was so tall it would always stick out of our stocking. My other favorite tradition is the candlelight service on Christmas Eve. It's so powerful when all the lights are out in the church and the candles illuminate everything while you sing "Silent Night."
  • Danielle - Around the holidays, my dad, uncles and myself all put empty cans (or basically whatever we can find) out in different spots in the back yard and shoot them. Nothing like spending some good ‘ol quality time with the family shooting guns. Plus it kills time waiting for all the food to be done.

What's a tradition that you have in your family? Share it with us in the comments!
