The ‘Best Sandwich in Iowa’ is Right Here in the Corridor

You won't have to travel very far to try the most delicious sandwich in the state! A new article from Eat This outlines the best sandwiches in all 50 states, and I'm happy to report that Iowa's pick is located in Iowa City!

Her Soup Kitchen, located at 625 S Dubuque Street, is a very unique little place. According to the official website:

"Her Soup Kitchen was established in 2009, we are a family owned restaurant located near the historic train depot. We encourage healthy, seasonal dining without sacrificing taste or inflated prices. We strive to use local, sustainable and seasonal products whenever possible."

Some of the local places that the restaurant gets ingredients from are Farmer's Henhouse in Kalona, Sprouts Unlimited in Marion, Maytag Bleu Cheese in Amana, and Bud's Custom Meats in Riverside. You can see the full list HERE.

Her Soup Kitchen offers a variety of sandwiches, but the number one favorite from Yelp reviewers is the Chicken Salad Sandwich. Eat This' article says that "Multiple Yelp reviewers rave about the chicken salad sandwich for being a basic, but always delicious, go-to every time."
