When it comes to Mexican restaurants, we have no shortage here in Eastern Iowa! The question is: which one serves the very best food?

The Daily Meal recently published an article that names the best Mexican restaurant in all 50 states. The results are based on online reviews, local articles, posts on social media, and "word of mouth tips."

According to this particular article, La Regia Taqueria in Iowa City has the very best Mexican food in the state of Iowa. It reads:

"From quesadillas to tortas, to tostadas and burritos, La Regia Taqueria has all the favorites you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant, but it’s the tacos that take the menu to the next level. Try the beloved fish tacos — fried tilapia on a corn tortilla with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, lettuce and ranch dressing — for the full experience."

La Regia Taqueria is located at 436 Hwy 1 W in Iowa City and has 4.5 out of five stars on Yelp. You know it's good, because that rating is based on 368 reviews! The restaurant's official website reads:

"We offer authentic Mexican food in Iowa City made out of the finest and freshest ingredients.

Few other Mexican restaurants in Iowa City, Iowa can confidently say that they serve authentic dishes with flavors native to Southern America."

I've never been to La Regia Taqueria, but after looking at the photo below, I'll be heading there soon!
