When I think of fries, the first place that comes to mind is Frydae in Marion. They have a menu that is LOADED UP with loaded street fries (pun intended). So far, I've had the opportunity to try the Classic Poutine, Buffalo Chicken Mac, Uptown Bacon Cheese, and Dill Pickle Fries, and they've all been INCREDIBLE.

In honor of National Fry Day 2026, we went on a mission to find some of the best fries across the Corridor and Cedar Valley. Whether they're waffle, crinkle, steak, shoestring, sweet potato, smothered in cheese, or loaded up with other toppings, it doesn't matter! The only things we didn't include were tater tots, because they're not technically "fries," but we mean no offense to the tots - they're delicious, too (especially the Tater Tot Smash from Daisy's Garage)!

Using several foodie Facebook groups in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and the Cedar Valley, we put together a list of restaurants that Eastern Iowans say have amazing fries. Here are some of the recommendations:
