Temperature Screenings Coming to Eastern Iowa Airport

The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) conducted a COVID-19 safety and protocol survey among its visitors and the results are in.

Vernon Research Group, the local firm that administered the survey, helped CID formulate a plan called the "Travel Well Program". It's a screening program they will run for at least a year that requires passengers departing CID and employees and staff of the airport working beyond the security checkpoints to be temperature-screened.

75 percent of respondents to Vernon's survey said they would feel more comfortable in the airport if a process like this was implemented. CID will team with Mercy Medical Center on the program, who implemented a similar one at their facility. Funding comes out of $22.8 million the Eastern Iowa Airport received via the CARES act earlier this year.
