Teenager Dies in Eastern Iowa Pickup Accident
A one-vehicle accident in Eastern Iowa has taken the life of a Jones County teenager.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened just before 3 pm Monday (June 21), southeast of Anamosa, near the Hale Wildlife Area.
A pickup driven by 16-year-old Lincoln Gravel of Wyoming, was eastbound on County Road E-45 when he lost control and the vehicle dropped onto the shoulder.

Gravel then overcorrected, crossed the center line, into the north ditch, crashing into a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Jones County Sheriff, Iowa DNR, Wyoming Fire-Ambulance, Lifeguard Air Ambulance, and Anamosa Ambulance.
