Schools, businesses and now entertainment venues have all been announcing closures in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Cedar Rapids' hometown community theatre, TCR, will be the latest to join the list.

After announcing last week that its shows would go on as scheduled, things have rapidly changed for everyone, including Theatre Cedar Rapids who now says they will temporarily close to comply with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations.

The re-opening date is slated for May 15th. In the interim, the theatre will increase cleaning practices as well as install hand sanitizer stations.

TCR is in the process of rescheduling dates of productions that will be affected by the temporary closure, and ticket holders to those shows will be notified.

Walk-up box office service is unavailable until further notice.
