Target Makes Changes to Wages

Target stores announced Tuesday that they will join other retailers by making a change to minimum wages.

Target says they're raising their minimum wage to ten dollars an hour. News reports say that the retailer will make the raise official by May.

Target raised their minimum wage to nine dollars an hour last April. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. California and New York have both voted to move their wage up to $15 an hour over time.

Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores gave employees raises in February. At Wal-Mart, all full-time hourly employees hired before January 1st, 2016 will earn ten dollars an hour.
